darkangel_0410So, I need a bit of a distraction from my BBB (it's going well, but I need to work a convo out and it's not going as smoothly as I would like) and since I absolutely love daemon fic in all my fandoms, I thought I'd do a daemon meme.
(Daemons are...well, kind of your soul and subconscious and conscious and best friend all rolled into one, with a touch of a soul bond and empathetic/psychic connection for the fuck of it; the wikipedia explains it better than I can.)
Comment with a character from any of my fandoms, past or present and I'll answer with: the name of their daemon, what kind of animal it is, why I picked that one and any other spare headcanon I have laying around about them in this 'verse.

His daemon's name is Sasha; she's a Canadian lynx -looks something like this in my mind:
Lynx aren't the biggest of the cat family, but they have a nasty disposition if you bother them; they're mostly solitary animals, hunting and living alone unless it's mating season. They're carnivores and will eat anything from dear to mice and thrive in a variety of environments. It makes my pick for Punk, mostly for the facts listed; Punk's an asshole, through and through and he hates people. He gives off definite leave me the fuck alone vibes and I can see his daemon glaring at people from beside the ring while he's wrestling.
Random headcanon: Sasha rarely speaks or pays attention to any people besides Punk; she just can't be bothered and stupidity irritates her almost as much as it does Punk. She settled when Punk was only 8 ga ridiculously young age, given that most daemons don't settle until 14 or so). She loves to curl up next to Janna, Colt's Husky daemon; she never tries to make a lot of small talk or try to touch her; Janna is just as patient and cheerful as Colt is and they eventually become so entangled together, the four of them, that Colt thinks nothing of running a hand over Sasha's head when he's feeling particularly affectionate.

I think Punk's totally serious about leaving, but eventually everyone comes back. Plus he deserves better than to leave on such bad terms. He better come back! Last week's Raw they had the Shield wrestle first so the next 2hrs and 45 minutes was a struggle to stay awake. This whole thing with Punk could easily be turned into an angle.

The whole reason he "left" is definitely plausible -Batista going to 'Mania, etc., etc.,- but the whole thing seems off to me for some reason.

I'd rather be a mark and have Punk than be right and have no Punk. I figured everyone is just being quiet about the situation because they are still trying to work out a solution.
Thinking of Batista in the main event at 'Mania makes me want to beat my head against the wall.

His daemon's name is Aseliade and she's a Black Footed Ferret; this is how I picture her:
Ferrets are notorious thieves, grabbing anything that catches their eye and then hoarding it away. They're curious and inquisitive, impossible to coral if they don't want to be there. They're extremely territorial about their "treasures" and can be nasty if you push at them too much. They like to chatter at themselves and other people and animals around them; they can be social if they want to be, otherwise they tend to be suspicious of people who invade their space.
I chose this for Tony mostly because all the ferrets I had were unmitigated pains in my ass, but I loved them beyond anything; they really do steal everything that catches their interest and getting whatever it was back is no easy feet. They will follow you around "talking" if they're feeling sociable -if not, they'll hole up and you could lose a finger if you bother them before they're ready for it. They also love to cuddle during the day when they sleep and will attack your feet while you're sleeping if they get bored entertaining themselves. All in all, ferrets are Tony shrunk down to an adorable, furry package.
Random headcanon: Aseliade used to keep watch for Tony when he was up to trouble as a kid -and still does it, usually when Pepper has ordered him to bed but they don't want to. Sometimes she'll bring Tony some of the smaller tools he needs, almost before he realizes he needs them. Jarvis will take orders from her just as readily as he does from Tony.
(I'll probably end up doing the rest of these later on, lol)

They have long fur and are fond of being in the snow and outside. They can be affectionate when they're comfortable with the people around them, but are cautious around strangers. I chose her for Bruce because he always screamed cat to me; he holds himself apart from most people, only showing people that they care on their own terms. Cats aren't all that big, all things considered, but they wreck tons of damage when they get mad.
Now, when Bruce changes into the Other Guy, Emmy changes, too. So, Emmy changes into a Saber Tooth Tiger:
They're extinct now, but I think just like The Other Guy is the flip side of Bruce, a STT would be a throwback for Emmy. STT were territorial and vicious when crossed, they had a hair trigger when crossed.

Fennec foxes are social animals, to an extent; unlike most canines, they're not pack animals -it's usually just a mated pair and their kits. When relaxed, they will lean on members of their family unit and can frequently be found playing with each other. They're omnivores and will eat almost anything that's smaller than they are. They're loyal to their group and monogamous, usually mating for life. They're usually easy-going (you can actually have them as pets in the US) but they've been known to bite people when they or their family is threatened.
I picked this for Phil because he is loyal, but not to a group or Agency, but rather, to people: Fury, Clint, Tasha. He goes with flow until he absolutely has to stop and he blends in easily, with an easy going smile. Around the right people,he's relaxed, happy, playful.
Random headcanon: When Alisha first settled, it took Phil three days to figure out what she was; he ended up having to take a bus to the college just outside of town and look through their encyclopedias before he found it. Alisha actually likes Tony, she thinks he's amusing; Phil thinks so, too, of course, but he hides it better. Sometimes, after really hard missions, she'll crawl into Phil's lap and purr at him until he gives in and starts petting her. After The Incident Where Fury Proved Himself To Be A Lying Liar Who Lies (title courtesy of Tony, of course), she bit Fury every time she saw him for almost six months.
