I've decided that to prevent future migraines/going bat shit crazy, I'm never discussing anything to do with wrestling with any of my rl friends.

I just had a 45 minute arguement with my -possibly former- best friend. It included, but wasn't limited to: whether Punk looked like a date rapist (so what if he does? Date rapist look-a-likes need love, too), who the hell Colt Cabana was, the fact that she thinks ROH and PWG sound like STD's -that on top of the fact that she has no idea even what they are, she thinks WWE has a strong tag team division and that she's convinced Cody Rhodes is a better wrestler then Danielson. Oh, and did I mention that she thinks it's ridiculious that I like Excalibur when I've never seen his face?

I swear to god, I had to leave the room and go outside before I strangled her. By the end of that 45 mins, I was legit ready to wrap my hands around her throat -and not in a sexy times kind of way, either.

It's decided: no more wrestling talk in rl; I can't take much more of this.

Not sure what a butter head is, but no, we do not dis the Guns. Yeah, wrestling talk in RL can be very frustrating. I like the way Sin Cara moves -- cause I know I could never do that and I admire the luchador style cause of the dedication it takes. (Well, all wrestling takes dedication, but I think you know what I mean). Thankfully for me, my BFF is a wrestling fan and is the reason I'm a fan, which is why my daughter is a fan with the largest crush in the world on Evan. (Daughter is 16, and loves him -- fangirls over the others, but would totally lose it if she ever met her Evvy).

I think that's what gets me so aggravated. She doesn't even like wrestling, which really, is not a huge deal & I don't even mind debating over stuff; I mean who wants anyone to agree with them 24/7? It'd be fucken boring. But, not only does she not like wrestling, she knows nothing about & she doesn't want to learn either. And then she goes off on all this stupid shit like it's the fucken truth. It's amazing that I haven't killed her yet.


That's so cool that your daughter's into wrestling & you know, I'm not surprised to find out she likes Ev, lol. My oldest, who's only seven, isn't really that into it; she likes Punk, which makes me grin, & Maryse, which still makes me wince when I think about it. Now, my youngest, is a HUGE wrestling mark. She fucken loves it. To the point where if she gets to pick a movie to watch, she inevitably goes to the wrestling DVD's. She likes the Guns & Punk, but her fave is Cena *sighs* I keep telling myself she's only 5 & she can't go around yelling 'you can't see me' forever

My adopted niece, daughter of the BFF, is 5. She claims Undertaker is her buddy, and has said such since she was 3. HHH is another of her favorites. This child will come running down the hallway at Taker's music or HHH's if she's not already in the room with us. For a while she was on a Cena kick, but did out grow it.

Punk does not look so much like a date rapist as a corner drug dealer trying to look good for his court appearance. Especially when rocking the suit.

You poor dear. Unfortunately, I think we all go through that. I've made it a rule that I can no longer watch wrestling with my mother. When we all thought Punk was leaving she kept asking what the big deal was and that she was glad he was. As you could guess, that ended badly. :P

All you can do really is just not bring it up, and talk about it with your wrestling friends.

I mean, I'm biased against WWE as a whole, but I've always been able to admit if indivdual wrestlers are any good. Like....hmmm... Oh, I know: Edge. My favorite wrestler ever, for a lot of reasons, the biggest being I've been crushing on him since '98 and he got me back into wrestling when I was starting to get bored with it. But, was he the best wrestler the time he was there? No, not by a long shot, but he had decent talent and something eVen more important: he could cut a promo like no one's business and he could make every auidence hate him, week after week, without boring them. Davey Richards is another example. Not that big of a fan, tbh. He just doesn't do it for me. But he is an excellent fucken wrestler, and totally deserves the ROH strap. See, that wasn't hard, was it? It didn't kill me to admit those things. Smh. I'll never understand people, I swear.

See, I mess up like that sometimes. Even my friends who like wrestling wouldn't understand shit like writing fanfic, especially slash. My gf thinks I'm way too obsessed. Maybe. But it's so fucking fun, and I would never have "met" awesome people like you guys (who understand) without the fandom! My rl friends are not only not into wrestling -and the couple who are, well, let's just say I avoid talking to them about anything wrestling related- they also have no idea how I can find two guys having sex hot. They're just all 'wtf' and 'gross', etc. It's really better to just not bring it up to anybody who's not into the fandom. They don't get it and why bang your head against a wall? It really is. Once you actually get into Punk, it's like 'straight edge, that's cool'. But I've yet to hear of anyone looking at Punk for the first time and going 'oh, that guys totally straight edge; I can tell'. So people just have the kind of personality that screams druggie.

Dude, annoying him is all well and good, but we won't be able to watch him wrestle if he's serving time as a result of a killing spree. But if you really want to send him over the edge, we can also talk about how BRMC kind of suck, and the only thing worse than the whiny tone of their guitars is the whiny tone of their vocalist. Just, you know, from a safe distance.
