Bored.....AGAIN....

It's almost 2 a.m., I can't sleep and I'm bored, once again. So, I thought I'd post another meme. Here we go:
1. Comment to this post with the name of a character that I have written in fic. Or geeked out about.
2. I will comment telling you the following:
a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits.
c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character*.
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

Date: 2013-01-05 01:41 pm (UTC)OK, here you go:
A. He's hot, no doubt, but it was that coupled with his attitude and talent that made me want to write him. He's such a gleeful, unrepentant asshole, it's awesome.
B. Hmmm, I'd say definitely his talent -I'd easily rank him as one of the top five technical wrestlers around today; the way he moves around a ring like he was born to it. It's always fun to watch him.
C. His worst trait? Depends on who you're talking to, I think; I know people who are completely turned off by what a dickhead he is. For me, though, I'd say his inability to let shit go; sure, his tenacity is partly why he's such a good wrestler, but, fuck, Shelley, once in a while, just drop some stuff instead of stewing about it for, like, years.
D. Shelley's pretty hard for me to write, actually. I always have trouble picturing his reactions clearly, the way he would do certain things; he's a complicated bastard and while that's part of the reason why he's so awesome, it also makes him a pain in the ass to get right. I'm never sure how he would say/do something, because he hardly ever acts consistently in real life.
E. Huh, that's a hard one, let me see.... "The last word was said almost pitifully and despite himself Alex smirked; he couldn't wait to rag on Chris about how girly he was sounding right now. But that didn't mean he wasn't seething inside at what Chris had just said; he wouldn't touch Jamie -royally pissed or not, he'd never hit a girl outside of a wrestling ring- but that didn't apply to Johnny." -A Year; that pretty much sums up Shelley for me. Even while he's planning revenge on someone for hurting his best friend, he's filing away information to torment said best friend with.
F. I'd love to be able to write Shelley again, but as of right now, I don't see it happening, tbh. I'll still read any fic with him and Sabin that I can get my hands on, but every time I try to write him, it ends up just going balls up.
Sorry about the editing, deleting, etc., of the comment -lj and my phone are a bad combo sometimes.

Date: 2013-01-05 07:08 pm (UTC)I think another one of his worst traits is that he's way too hard on himself. I'm a perfectionist, but damn. I'm not that hard on myself. And yeah, I agree with you, he just needs to learn to let shit go and move on. But him being a complete dickhead is what makes him Shelley, so I guess we have to take it :D
I would never have guessed that Shelley's hard for you to write, because every line that you write sounds exactly like him. I've heard a lot of people say that they find Sabin hard to write because he's so quiet and hard to read, but for me, that's exactly why I have no trouble writing him. Shelley's so random and I just never know what he'll say or do either. But you do a really good job with him.

Date: 2013-01-05 09:13 pm (UTC)The dickheaded-ness never bothered me, tbh; like, I said, it's one of the most attractive things about him, lol. He takes perfectionist to whole another level, serious. I bet he has ulcers like you wouldn't believe.
Thanks, that means a lot to me :) Sabin's easy for me to write, too; there's more leeway, too, with him because of how quiet he is, so you have more to work with than with Shelley.

Date: 2013-01-05 02:04 pm (UTC)Here you go, hun, have some Mikeyway:
A. I'd say it was a combination of his looks, the way he freakin' adores his brother and my long standing predilection for bass players. Doesn't hurt that we're both originally from the same area of New Jersey, either.
B. His loyalty; to his family, the band, friends, even the fans. He never gives up once he really believes in you, we all saw that when Gee was going through his addiction problems.
C. He keeps things bottled up too much and he doesn't like to ask for help for himself; last time things were getting to be too much, he didn't say anything until it was almost too late.
D. Man, Mikey's a pain in the fucken ass for me to write. It's hard for me to write his infamous deadpan/stoic personality without it coming off as either boring or depressing.
E. Let me think... Here we go: "A lifetime of knowing someone would always love you, no matter what you looked like, what you did; knowing that his brother would always catch him when he fell. Mikey knew he could let go as much as he wanted when Gerard was there; he knew his brother would always protect him, no matter what happened." -As Long As It's You. No matter what he says or does, Mikey knows Gerard will always be there for him, will always love him. Even in rl, I get the feeling Mikey doesn't trust often or easily, but the person he knows he can always trust is his big brother.
F. Yeah, for right now, I'm sure I'll write him again; I'm working on a fic with him now and I have a feeling that there will be more.

Date: 2013-01-07 09:53 pm (UTC)A. Without a doubt, it was when he was playing Sylar on Heroes; his portrayal of him blew my mind away. He made Sylar so much more than just your typical serial killer or bad guy, it took me a while to actually write but from that moment, I was hooked.
B. His acting ability, hands down -he's amazingly talented and he uses it to his advantage. And his intelligence is a very close second.
C. Oh, he's a perfectionist and he rides himself really hard about somethings. And he never lets anything go, either.
D. Oh, that's a hard one, hold on.... Ok, here: " Zach wasn't the type to cheat; if he was with someone then he was with them and his own personal standards would never let that happen." -The Thing. That describes Zach to a Z, I think -in both his personal life and career.
E. Zach's actually pretty easy for me to write, tbh -most of the time, he's one of the easiest for me. We've got a couple different things in common, though, and that always helps.
F. I would love to be able to write him again -I'm hoping once the media grind really starts for ITD that I'll get hit with more inspiration.
